Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo and Carnival

Tonight we took Cash to the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo. I thought that it would be a good family event for us, to take him to see the animals and go the carnival and let him ride some rides and get to eat cotton candy for the first time. Well I was wrong on almost all those thoughts... We started out at the petting zoo where we let Cash out of his stroller so he could run around and see all the animals that were there. They had everything that you could think about, from chickens to lambs to camels! Cash however liked the chickens, which made mom so excited...those who know me know that if Cash likes chickens than mom is happy. Since I raised chickens and won grand champion chickens in high school I can not wait till he is big enough to start showing them.. thats just 7 1/2 years away!!!

Cash is saying, " Hey mom I want to raise some of these!!" My response, " YES!!!"
The camel that they had at the petting zoo was super friendly and let Toby feed it, and pet him. Cash was not so sure about the camel. Cash just wanted to stare at him but did not want to touch him.

So I thought if he was not interested in the animals we would go to the rides... Cash loved riding in his stroller and looking at all the carnival lights that were there, so I knew for sure he would like riding in a lighted up train..well this is where I was wrong.. way wrong. I stood in line so that Cash and I could be the first ones on so that we could sit in the front of the train. There was a little boy behind me in line that wanted to sit the front car but when they opened the gate Cash and I took off and jumped in the car first. I kinda felt bad for this kid since I had purposely tried to beat him to the front, which I had succeeded in. But I thought my kid wants to ride in front too. Cash was not tall enough to ride on this so I had to ride with him too. There was not much room for adults as you can see in the picture. As soon as we got on the ride her started screaming and crying.. they only he would stop was when it round around in a circle and we passed Toby. Then he would go back to crying again. So needless to say after that we were done with the rides. I did not want to make things worse! I still remember to this day when I was little and my dad made me ride on a ride that I was scared to death of. It was at Disney World, and I am still scared from that experience.
Here is a picture of Cash and Dad at the carnival. He was watching all the people and not concerned with looking at me for the camera.
On our way back to the car we had our coke that we had bought in the cup holder on the stoller, Toby went through a hole in the ground and it made the coke dump out all over Cash's head and clothes, he was soaking wet. I took his shirt off to try and dry him and his head since they looked like they had been swimming in coke. Cash was screaming but I finally calmed him down and rode the rest of the way to the car with out a shirt on.. yes, I felt like those people that never have clothes on thier kids.. and Cash could not figure out why he did not have his shirt on.
What a way to end the night. So the Henson's will not be going back to the carnival for a long long time!

Baby Goats!!

We it seems the last week has been pretty uneventful in our household. Just work and thats about it. Pretty much the same with the weekend, except that I had a function for work on Saturday. After that we just hung out, in the barn and outside for the weekend. Here are some pictures of Cash helping Toby sweep out his shop. Cash loves working with the broom. He thinks it is the greatest thing. Now if he could just get a little bigger he could start cleaning my house!

We also went over to Aunt Erin's friend's house that had baby goats for Cash to see. He was really nervous the whole time we were there, and just kept starting at them. He would not let Erin put him down. Cash did tell me on the way home that he wanted a pet one for his house... so his daddy better get busy building him a pen to keep it in!

Happy Easter!

Today was Cash's 2nd Easter! It was so much fun. He woke up this morning and ran into the living room and these are the Easter goodies that he found. I found an Elmo easter basket which is perfect since he like Elmo alot. I also found 3 elmo easter eggs that you can see in the picture. The duck that looks like a bunny sang and danced. The John Deere looking dog a girl at my office made for Cash. It matches his John Deere room perfectly.

The duck was dancing and singing and Cash was trying to get it to stop. It was really funny. It sang a song, about wanting to be a rabbit and not a duck. Cash slept last night for 13 hours! Thats the longest he has ever slept! It was so nice. We met my parents for lunch today and then came back to our house to hunt Easter eggs. I wonder if Cash would get into it and he did. He had a blast, he would find each egg by egg and pick them up and put them in his basket. Here are some pics from the days events...

I thought that the picture below was the perfect picture of Cash and his daddy to finsih off this entry. They were going to go and find some more eggs in this picture.

18 Months!

I took Cash for his 18 months pictures today. So I thought that I would post them for people to see. If you are family I have ordered yours and they should be in the mail sometime next week, so be looking in your mailbox!

This is a typical Cash face, he ALWAYS has his tounge out...

We took the picture of us, just a casual picture. I still think it's sweet.

Its crazy to think that he is on his way to 2!!! Time flies! He is such a little man now. It just blows my mind....

Great Aunt Nellie's Cookies and bubbles

Let me start this entry by telling you a little background about who "Aunt Nellie" is. Her real name is Janell and she is my mom's sister, but to me she has ALWAYS been Aunt Nellie. You see when I was little I could not say her name Janell, so she just became Nellie and its stuck ever since. I do not think that I have ever called her Janell and I still do not to this day. She is Aunt Nellie. You see we have always been close, she even drove all the way to Texas for Cash's baby shower when I was pregnant just to surprise me! The other great thing about her is that she make the my favorite cookies in the world. She makes these soft chewy sugar cookies that are to die for... I have grew up on them and she always sends them in the mail for some of the holidays (I have to do lots of begging for them as they are a pain to make) But here is the good news........ Now Cash can eat them and he loves them! So I am hoping that now since she can make them for me and her great nephew that Cash and I will get them more often... so Aunt Nellie, you can send them ANYTIME!!!

Cash and I came home tonight from work and there was a box on the porch, it was Cash's easter basket from Aunt Nellie and what was inside??? SUGAR COOKIES!! This is Cash's first time to have them since he has teeth and can eat them, so I decided that I had to have his first bite documented with pictures so Aunt Nellie could see how excited he was!!
See Aunt Nellie!! He LOVES THEM!!!!! They were worth the effort of making them!!!!

Cash says how can you say no to this face???? Send more cookies soon!!!

Also included besides the cookies was a box full of goodies for Cash, a ball, a bunny, a dump truck and a super cool battery powered bubble maker!! Its awesome.. Toby and I even had fun playing with it... Cash loved the bubbles.... he would try and dodge them and catch them... he could not figure out what they were... we are going to have many fun times with the bubble gun!
Thanks for all the goodies AUNT NELLIE! Your the best!!!

Baby Blue and the bump on his head!!

I know this picture is blurry but I wanted everyone to see my baby's blue eyes! I just love them. Also notice the bruise on his forehead, he ran into the wall this morning on the way to work. He was watching Toby in the living room and waving goodbye to him while we were walking out the door and he walked straight into the wall, and it threw him back on his back. It sounded Awful!!! Its huge, I know the picture does not show it but its all swelled up. Here is another one with his blues and his bump on his head tonight!

Here he is playing in his new PJ's with his curious George Jack in the Box. I wonder if he was a little girl if he would still end up with these bumps on his head? Like I said in previous blogs, he is all BOY!!!! Just like his daddy....

Weekend!

Well its Sunday night... which mean back to work tomorrow! Yuck! I think that thay may be the first time that I have ever thought that. I am losing my motivation for work right now, I found out last Monday that my boss, who I honestly believe is the most incredible person that I have ever worked for is moving to a new position in a couple of weeks! This devastates me more than anyone knows. I also think that we have no idea who will take his place is a little nerve racking as well.

The weekend was great, the weather was great. Saturday I had a baby shower to go to and then Cash and me spent some time at the mall. Who would have ever thought that Cash liked the mall. He had a blast running in and out of the stores and back. He rode the merry go round and I do not think that it was his favorite thing to do, but maybe next time.

Saturday Toby's mom came into town and we met her and Toby's aunt and uncle for dinner. Toby's uncle has been in Iraq and was just home for a short 2 week visit and we were so excited that we got to see him. Here is a picture of the boys after dinner the other night.
Toby's mom brought her famous Easter bunny cake with her this weekend, so we enjoyed snacking on it today. Cash also got to eat his first big person ham sandwich for lunch today, and he ate every bite of it. Well, its off to bed for now, for a work week, that I am not looking forward to.

Easter Party

Tomorrow is Cash's Easter Party at school. Once again for the class party just like a Valentine's I signed up to make cupcakes. But this time I decided that plain white was going to be no fun for Easter. So last night I made my cupcakes, and tonight I had to put icing on them. I decided that they needed to be festive! Anyone who knows my mom knows that she goes all out at the holidays so I decided that I would make icing in 4 different colors for the occasion. Maybe I am following in some of her footsteps afterall. AND by the way when you use a cake mix to make mini-cupcakes... it makes a lot!! A lot as in 56 little cupcakes! I also signed up to bring the Easter goody bags for the kids in his room. I bought cute little Easter sacks and filled them with little bubbles and things that little kids would enjoy like bouncy balls, and squeaky toys.
As you can see I am quite proud of how everything turned out. I am starting to feel like one of those homeroom moms... I guess you can have the career and be a super mom at the same time.. the only thing that I am learning that it then leaves no time for sleep! Well I hope that Cash enjoys his party tomorrow. They are going to have an Easter egg hunt also.... the kids better watch out. Since Cash is bigger than them he may run over them to get the eggs before they can.
Well, now it's almost 10 and I still need to start some laundry so I have some clean clothes to wear to work... how do people do this with more than one kid??? Any answers???

The Many Faces of Cash

So today, I tried to get some good pictures of Cash outside, I tried and tried and tried to get one of him smiling and it never worked. Instead, I ended up with him and some crazy expressions on his face. The one above, he looks like he is looking for someone out of the corner of his eye.
This was he was too amused with what the dog was doing to give me a smile. He has figured out that when I get the camera out he looks the other way! Its so frustrating. But it did give me a good view of his bottom teeth. I just wish some more would come in.

He looks deeply concerned in this picture... maybe he heard that Hillary Clinton was running for president! Thats enough to scare or concern anyone! So at the end of the day I still had no picture of him smiling, instead I ended up with the many facial expressions of Cash Dalton Henson~ Maybe this was better than smiles anyway!

Sandbox!

Toby built Cash a sandbox about a month ago, and we would go outside and let Cash play but as you can see it did not have any sand for it. We did not realize that play sand for kids was so expensive until after the sandbox was built. It was going to cost over $100 just to put sand in it, we decided we would wait until it got warmer and buy some then when he would be outside more. Cash still wanted it now. As you can see in the picture Cash is giving Toby directions and saying, "Dad where's my sand??" Well last night the Sand fairy (paw paw and grandma) came and brought Cash sand for his sandbox as a surprise!
Cash was very unsure of the sand when he got in it. He was hard for him to stand in and keep his balance! He was really wobbly, but he likes it... so this summer its going to be about building the best sandcastle ever!!!
Anyone want to come help????

All BOY!!

Doesn't he look crazy in this picture? His eyes are crazy... I have decided tonight that I am going to have my hands full with this little guy as he grows up... tonight while taking his bath he decided that it would be better if the water that was in his bathtub was on the bathroom floor instead. He has a big cup that he plays with in the bathtub, and he would fill it with water and then dump it on the bathroom floor, as I would scream STOP CASH, he would look at me smile and then giggle. It is so hard to stay mad at the little guy when he does that, he looks so adorable. I now know why people end up letting their kids walk all over them. This picture you can see his evil little look in!! Toby and I have been watching supernanny on tv trying to get some tips, looks like if this contuines we may be calling her to come and help us!!
I also came to realization that Cash is all BOY!! As you can see he has figured out how to crawl on Toby's back and then stand up. He thinks that it is the best thing ever.. little does he know that he is going to fall and break his head open when he falls. He must have crawled and stood up on Toby's back 100 times tonight before I finally told him bath time! Now, when you hear the words Bath Time around our house and your name is Cash, you stop what you are doing that very moment and run to the bathroom and stand at the bathtub and start taking your clothes off, so if Cash ever decided to be a stripper later on in life, his code word to get his clothes off will be BATH TIME!!

He is constantly climbing on everything, jumping, yelling, getting dirty... doing all the things that little boys do... times like this I wonder what a girl would have been like, would she just be sitting in my lap quietly reading a book? Instead we have crazy wild moments in our household right now... and for the next 18 years ... so anytime anyone wants to babysit.. he is all yours.. but you better have some energy, because this little guy never stops!!

Texas Weather

Today, I took off work and Cash I went to visit my dear friend Suzy from high school. When we left this morning it was warm and we were in short sleeve shirts, when we left it was freezing. He is a picture of Cash all bundled up when we got home because he wanted to play outside. I have decided this is why my family is always sick, you can never be prepared to be dressed correctly for this weather! It's nuts I tell you!!

Texas Weather! You never know what you are going to get.

A day at Grandma's and Paw Paw's

Cash spent Sunday at my parents, so Toby and I could spend the day working in the yard... we bought a house outside of town because we did not want to live in a neighborhood, we wanted space, well our 4 acres gave us space along with a great big yard to keep up with! We spent Sunday raking leaves and cleaning out trees what a workout!! As you can see Cash had more fun than we did, he got to go to the park and have a blast!
Now that's a look of excitement!!!

I love this picture! I think that he must have been playing hide and seek, and he was hoping that no one would find him, I think that he thought that he was hidden but big suprise to him they had found him. Thanks for watching me on Sunday Cash says that he had a blast!! If you notice in the top picture and the bottom one Cash has his tounge out, thats a trait he gets from his dad, whenever Toby is thinking about something really hard his tounge comes out! Like I say, he is a minitoby!!
