Summer Plans

Last night when Toby went to put Palin to bed, she decided that she did not want to sleep in her bed that she wanted to sleep on the floor. Toby layed with her for a little bit and she was out. We picked her up once she was out and put her in her bed.
We sat down as a family yesterday and made a list of things that we wanted to do as a family. We went around the table and everyone said things that they wanted to do and we created this list for the fridge so that we can check off the things we do as we do them. Looks like its going to be a busy summer.

It bloomed! Cash's Sunflower

A couple of months ago, Cash brought home a seed, let me clarify just one seed. Not a few seeds, just one seed. We planted it and have watched it grow.  It kept getting taller and taller, and then we noticed that it was starting to bloom. When we got home last night, it had bloomed!! Cash had a sunflower. He was really excited about it. Not sure how long that it will actually last but at least it bloomed and he can say that he grew his first sunflower!

Feeding the Ducks

Last night we had told the kids that after dinner we would take them to the park to play and to feed the ducks. Palin was so excited the whole way to the park, she held the bread to feed the ducks, and kept telling Toby to get to the park. Once we got there she did not want to feed the ducks, she was kinda scared of them. Cash jumped right into feeding them and they followed him around wanting food.

There was one that was really ugly and had a red head. He was the biggest one there and kept taking everyone's food. Finally towards the end of us running out of bread Palin decided that she wanted to feed them. She enjoyed getting to feed them. We then headed over to the play ground area and let them play for awhile. Cash even ran into one of his friends from Happy Days there and was able to play with him there.

We are looking forward to many more summer nights going to the park and playing and feeding the ducks. Our playtime was cut short because Palin had to go to the bathroom so we loaded up and went to the first stop that we found that just happen to be Dairy Queen and everyone got ice cream to cool down with. The kids were in a great mood and we had a lot of fun!

And we are off .. Vacation 2013.. lots of post read below for all of them....

We left for vacation last Thursday night and we had a blast! I had gone to Dollar tree and purchased several things for them to do and have on the trip since I knew we were going to be in the car and in the hotel some. They were excited to get thier baskets before we left Thursday night.

We loaded up and this is them as we were backing out of the driveway! They were so excited and could not wait to get on the road! Palin was tuned into her movie and excited to start vacation!
We got to the hotel around 10pm that night and they stayed up till almost midmight playing and running around like crazy kids! Palin would run under Cash as he layed across the beds.  By midnight we were all tucked into our beds ready to start our fun the next morning.

Day 2 Caverns ...

The kids were up bright and early on Friday morning. They were ready for breakfast and swimming. We put our swimsuits on and head downstairs to go to McDonalds for breakfast.
Our hotel even had Shamu tails out front. We took our picture by them on our way to breakfast. Luckily McDonalds was just across the street. We ate breakfast and were in the pool by 9am to swim.

We all 4 swam till about 11am and then went to the room to clean up and head to the caverns for the afternoon before the Funkhousers arrived.
The kids were starving or so they thought so we stopped at Taco Cabana right before we got to the cavern and ate lunch. Since we do not have one in Stephenville, this was the perfect choice for lunch.

The Caverns were really neat and a workout too! There were lots of steps and climbing up and down walkways. Cash was freaked out about the first 20 minutes that we were in there. I thought that he was going to faint. He finally started enjoying them about half way through them and by the end he thought that they were really cool.

When we got back to the hotel around 4pm the kids were anxious to get out thier baskets and make some crafts. We made puppets with paper bags. They had a really good time and it was a great way to kill some time while we waiting on our friends to arrive for dinner.
Being inside only last so long and they wanted to go outside. We went outside and played on the playground at the hotel until we got word that our friends were arriving and we headed to the lobby to meet them.

The Funkhousers Arrived ... and ended Day 2

The kids were excited by the time that the Funkhousers finally arrived around 6pm. They ended up getting to leave earlier than planned so we were able to go to dinner with them. We ate at a resturant called Bigz. It was a hamburger joint that had a huge play area for the kids. All the tables were around the play area so you could eat and let the kids play and run around.... it was KID FRIENDLY and with 4 kids with us, we needed it.

Palin loves getting to play with Baby Avery. She thinks that its her baby sometimes. Avery just laughs at Palin and thinks she is funny. Palin loves making goofy noises at her.
After dinner we went back to the pool and swam that evening with the Funkhousers and had fun till dark. Once we finally got the kids in bed, they were out in no time!
Palin did sleep in her pack in play, but insisted on laying on the floor to fall asleep each night and then we picked her up and placed her in her bed.  I would say the first full day was a success and warn them out!

Seasme Street Breakfast

It was the morning that the kids had been waiting on! We were headed to Sea World.

We had purchased tickets to go to a Seasme Street breakfast before Sea World opened. We were able to have front row parking at Sea World and get into the park an hour before it opened. Once we got through the gates and spent about 20 minutes lost we finally found where we were supposed to be to meet our furry friends.
We all got our breakfast plates full of yummy bacon, sausage and french toast and sat down all the Seasme Street characters came out to visit. Cash was excited to see them and ran up to all of them and danced and played games with them. Palin was different story. She was scared to death of them. She would not let go of me or Toby.

We had a blast and Palin warmed up to the them a little by the end of the breakfast and at least waved goodbye to them when they left. It was the pefect way to start our day at Sea World.

Sea World

Once we were finished with the Seaseme Street breakfast we headed straight to the Bay Of Play at Sea world so the boys could ride the rides before the lines got long. This was a great decision because they waited no time to get to ride them. Cash did not think twice about them, he ran from ride to ride and got on them.

Last time that we were at Sea World he was almost 4 and my mom got to ride the roller coaster with him since I was pregnant with Palin, but this time I got to and we sat in the very front car just like they did. Jayson and Hunter got to sit behind us.
The Shamu roller coaster was the only ride that I rode with him. The rest Cash and Hunter rode by themselves. They had a really good time. They had added a lot of kids rides since we were there last.
This ride below I was impressed that Cash actually rode. It went pretty high for a kids ride, but he thought that it was great and kept waving to us when he went up high.

We wented a stroller for Palin while we were there and she enjoyed getting to ride around in it. We could hardly get her to get out of it when we needed to go watch a show. She kept saying, my stoller, my stoller. This was the best $18 that we could have spent. After Elmos' world we went and watched the Shamu show. Palin kept calling him the big fish!
Next show after Shamu was Elmo Rocks. It was a rock concert with the Seasme street Characters and the kids got to go up to the stage and sing and dance with the characters. Cash had a really good time at this show.
After the show the boys were begging to get to go and play in the water world part. We let them go and play for about 20 minutes, but it got real crowded and we could hardly keep our eyes on them. So we convinced them that it was time for lunch and we went and found some shade and got a bite to eat.

Palin did not know that we stopped and ate. By the time they had gotten dried off, Palin could hardly keep her eyes open. She slept in her stroller all through lunch. After lunch we went and saw the dolphins, fed the sea lions, and watched the Sea Lion show. After that we headed out, and grabbed some drinks and went back to the hotel.

The hotel that we stayed out was really neat. Once we got back to the hotel we made the kids go to the room and rest for about an hour, and then we headed down to the pool and deck area. They had an outside bar and grill. We ate buurgers and hot dogs outside by the pool and let the kids swim again.
After dinner, another hour swimming we all went and changed clothes to get ready to roast marshmallows and make smores while we watched a movie outside at the hotel. The hotel had fire pits and chairs around them that we sat around until it got dark and the movie started.
Once the movies started they brought around popcorn for free to everyone to have during the show! We made it till about 10 pm and headed back to our rooms with exhausted parents and kids!

We all had a really great time and enjoyed getting to spend it with the Funkhousers!
