First Day of School 2013

It was back to school on Monday morning in our House. Palin was starting Preschool with the 3 year olds and Cash was starting 1st grade. Thankfully Cash woke up at 630am on his own this morning. He was ready to eat breakfast and got dressed. We got Palin up and dressed and ready for school. They were both in really good moods this morning and were happy to let me take pictures.

I even got them to take one together. They were both excited and ready to get there. No tears were shed, expect by mom as I got teary eyed when I dropped Cash off at his class. He LET me walk him to his class this morning, and he ran in and sat down at his desk and was ready to start his day and waved good bye and was ready for me to leave. Whitney was already there waiting at her desk when we got there this morning. I am anxious to see how the first day went.

Back to School Party

We had a party filled weekend. We started with a pool party at one of the girls I work with. Then Saturday night we have a birthday party for our Friend Luke. He was turning 5. Sunday we celebrated at our house with a Back To School party and celebration at our house. The kids woke up to the below on Sunday morning.
We went to Sunday school and church and then headed home to clean house and finish decorating before our friends and their kids came over to celebrate one last time before summer was over and school started.

We had pizza and cookies and cake. The kids had a blast and the adults did too. We visited and let the kids play till they were worn out.

Once everyone left I let the kids open cards that my parents has sent in the mail for the 1st day of school wishing them luck and then it was bath time and bed time. We had them sleeping by 830pm.

Before School Starts

Cash spent the night out at the Farm at Toby's parent on Wednesday night last week, one last time before school starts. He spent most of Thursday going on deliveries and having a great time being a boy. He made mud puddles and drover trucks through them. Ahhhh the joys of having a boy. Even though I think that Palin will be playing in the mud just as much as him one day soon.

Meet the Teacher

We had meet the teacher last night. Cash was so excited about it. The best part was that it is Tobys friends mom, Mrs. Hayes. She has been teaching for 25 years in the same room!! The best part is that when we got there, Whitney is sitting next to him. Mrs. Hayes already had their assigned places. And the girl sitting next to Cash also goes to our church. So at least he already knows some people. The theme for school this year, is Super Heroes. His school name is Chamberlin, so they changed the S in the superman sign C for Chamberlin, but I told Cash it was for Cash.

When we got there Mrs. Hayes gave us a sheet of instructions of what to do with their school supplies, and we opened everything and got it all put in his pencil box and desk, so he is ready to go when he gets there Monday morning. We are excited to start this next chapter. We have out first football practice tonight also!

The Kids Play while we were away!

Not to worry, the kids did not miss us much this past weekend. My parents picked them up from School on Friday and took Cash to his school to see the teacher lists. They had posted which teacher he would have for the upcoming year. We were so excited to find out that he got Ms. Hayes, which is Marcus's mom.  Marcus is the first person that I met when Toby and I started dating and I have known his mom since then. Its so neat that they were at our wedding and now she is Cash's teacher. They second best part is that Whitney is in Cash's class.  Next mom and dad took the kids to McDonalds to eat supper before heading back to the house.

Saturday morning Cash had them up and wanted to go to the donut shop to get donuts and eat breakfast there. After the donut shop it was off to the library where Cash and Palin each checked out 4 books and movie to watch. They went to the park and played before going home and having meatloaf and potatoes that my parents brought up that they had made. The kids go crazy over meatloaf. After lunch it was back into the car and off to Splashville for the afternoon. Cash even had both my parents going down the waterslides with him. Palin has not stopped talking about getting to go to Splashville.
Palin and my dad pictured below as the bucket of water dumped on them, and they got soaked!
That night after Splashville it was home to clean up and then to CiCi's for dinner. Where they got to play and act silly. Once Palin was in bed Cash said they played numerous games of UNO together the rest of the night till they all went to bed. Sunday morning they went back to the donut shop and to the park to play till we got home. They had a blast and I think wore my parents out. These two kiddos are a full time job non stop to keep up with.

Busy Filled Weekend

This weekend my parents volunteered to come and visit and spend the weekend with the kids so Toby and I could get away. I had an awards banquet at work Friday night in Granbury, that the HR team planned for the plant, and we stayed the night at the Hilton there. This was my first FMC event to go to and it was great! We had a really good time planning it and the event was a success. It was to reconigze employees with service from 5 years to 35 years of service. It was at the convention center in Granbury. Below is the picture of my HR team that I work with now. They are a great group of girls and I love working with them.

We had plans to meet Jayson and Erin on Saturday afternoon in Arlington to go to the Rangers game. We met them and hung out at the hotel for a little while, and then went to dinner and headed to the baseball game. It was a really great game to go to. Weather was awesome! Our seats were in the shade and it was not hot at all. Much better than when we went last year and melted watching the game.

I am so glad that we have stayed friends with them for so long! We all met in college and have been pretty much in separateable since then. Even though we have moved we have made it a point to still get together and do things. They have came to see us this summer, we went to Sea World, and now this weekend, which was even a kid free weekend for them too! Jayson and I even spent 6 years working together every day at McKesson.
We enjoyed the weekend a lot and were excited to get home and see the kids yesterday. However from what all they did with my parents I don't believe that they missed us very much. They were busy from sun up to sun down!

Beach, Tractor Pull and The rest of the weekend

Friday I took  half a day and so did Mandy. We loaded up the kids and headed to Lake Granbury. The kids wanted to go to the beach all summer and we had not made our way down to Galveston, and I had heard that Grandbury had a really great beach on the lake. The kids could not have been more excited.

We got there and hit the lake. The kids played in the sand and looked for sea shells in the water. They built sandcastles and wrote in the sand. All the things that you are supposed to do at the lake. It was not crowded and had lots of space to ourselves.

There was even a really great splashpad that they got to play in after the sand so that they were clean when we got in the car! On Saturday Palin and I did a little shopping and we got Cash and went and ordered his birthday cake from the bakery in Dublin. That afternoon we could only get Cash to take a nap, which turned out to be a good thing.
Toby and him had been planning a trip to the DeLeon Peach and Melon Festival that was having thier annual Tractor Pull Saturday night. Cash loved it and they did not get home till 12:30am! Cash kept telling Toby that he did not want to leave... he took videos of it for me. He really enjoyed it.

Sunday morning we got up and headed to church. Cash and I were coordinating so I made Toby take our picture. Cash was mad because I made him where dress pants to church! He is so funny about having to dress up it makes him so mad! Guess its a good thing that he is not in private school.
Last night after dinner the kids played really well together. They built blocks and played with Cash's trucks until it was time to get ready for bed.

First Trip to The Library

The kids had been looking foward going all summer. After I got off work I picked the kids up and we headed up to Library. We were all issued cards and then sent downstairs to the kid area for the kids to pick out books. Since this was this first time checking out books each kid was allowed one book. After we return the first book, we can check out as many was we want at a time.  Library's have changed so much since I was a kid. There was no card catalog. Cash even asked me what one was when I was talking about them. However you can check out movies for free from the library so Cash was pretty excited about that.

The Library has a really cool kids area downstairs with couches and chairs to sit in and read. The kids picked out thier books rather quickly and we got a Disney movie and we headed home. Cash was asleep by 730pm on his own. I guess he was wore out. Palin stayed up and I read her book to her.  It was a fun trip and the kids are looking foward to thier next trip next week there.

Blingy Flip Flop

Yesterday Palin's new flip flops came in the mail. She was so freaking excited it was priceless. She kept telling me they are blinging like you mommy! She did not want to take them off and ended up sleeping with the bag that they came in. Today when I got her ready for school she wanted to wear them and could not. They have to wear tennis shoes to school, but she insisted on taking them with her in the bag they came in. She will not let go of them.  I love that she was so excited about them since they were like mine!
