Mini Vacation Glen Rose Part Two

We rented a cabin on the river to stay in. It was the best location and was right by a waterfall. We got to hike around it and listen to the water fall all evening while we were outside.

The cabin was great. It had a loft sleeping area and a fold out couch for the kids. It also had a full kitchen in it. We cooked out hot dogs on Thursday evening and Friday morning Toby cooked breakfast for all of us.

We went to Dino World on Friday morning and there were a lot of things for the kids to do. They got to dig for fossils, and even pretend to look and brush off sand to find parts of dinosaurs. There were over 100 Life size dinosaurs that we got to walk around and look at.

Palin's highlight of the experience was getting to feed the fish. There were hundreds of them. She loved getting to see them go cray when she fed them.

We had a great Mini Vacation and it was only 30 minutes from the house!

Mini Vacation to Glen Rose: Part 1

We surprised the kids and picked them up early on Thursday from school and headed off on a Mini Vacation. We headed to Glen Rose to play in the river and enjoy a little getaway. The kids got along great.

Our first stop was Big Rocks in Glen Rose its a great location that the kids can climb on rocks and play in the river. There would be big fish jumping in the water with them and around them, it took them a little while to get used to all of that.

Cash worked on his photo skills and took a picture of the 3 of us. He did not do too bad at it.

Toby and Cash spent some time climbing on rocks and being boys, Palin was not interested in it very much and stayed by me while they climbed.

Palin's First Hair Cut

A couple of weeks ago, we took Palin to get her first haircut. She was really excited about it, and was hurrying me out the door that morning to get there. However once we got there and she sat up in the chair, she quickly changed  her mood about it.

It took a little calming her down and getting her a balloon to make her smile and for them to get it trimmed. Once it was over she thought that it was great, and is already looking foward to the next time she can get it trimmed!

New Truck!

Saturday night, Toby, Palin and I headed to Fort Worth to go truck shopping. We knew that we would be getting one this summer, and we figured now was the time! Which was great, because the suburban window quit working while we were there! That was the sign.

Palin did really well and entertained herself and was as patient as a 3 year old can be in that situation! LOL! She was excited to ride home in it.

VBS

This week started VBS at our church. Its themed all about the Circus! The kids are having a blast and Palin loves it! She gets excited about going and cant wait to get to class and start singing and dancing to her songs. I am helping with Cash's class this year, which has been fun. We have two more nights left.

Pooltime!

Friday I took sometime off and took Cash and his friend to splashville. They had a really good time going down the slides and hanging out in the lazy river. It was pretty cloudy that day, but we all still managed to get some sun while we were there. That morning Cash had gone roller skating with daycare so by the end of the day he was exhausted!!

Football Camp

Saturday morning before the recital Cash has his last day of football camp for the summer. He is attending all three sports camp this summer.  They had scrimmage games that morning that they played that we went and watched. They played really good and ended up having to play 4 games.

He got to play several different positions this year so he was excited about that. He did a  really good job of playing and being all over the field.

Of course Miss Priss was there to cheer him on and eat her fruit loops. She was there in rollers and all, so we could keep her hair curly before her recital.

First Dance

Palin had her first dance recital on Saturday. She was so excited about it. She got to get her hair fixed and got to wear makeup. We made her a tshirt to wear so when she was backstage her costuem would stay clean.

Palin and her little friend Sawyer backstage getting ready to go on. She had 3 songs that they danced to. Tap, Ballett and hip hop.

She totally thinks she is a diva when it comes to dressing up and the focus on her... She loves it!!!
This is the girls back stage watching the movie FROZEN between dances waiting for thier turn.

Palin was getting tired by the end, but I told her that bubba had a surprise for he when it was over, and she was so happy that he had flowers for her. It was a brief moment that they actually liked eached other!

Palin had her own cheering squad as each set of grandparents were in attendance for the event.

She can see Hollywood calling her name!!!

Chasing chickens, fishing and water sprinklers

Sunday after church we went to lunch with our SFG group since we are not meeting for the summer. Then we went home and changed clothes and headed out to the Weem's to go fishing for the afternoon. Cash and Whitney enterained themseilves chasing chickens while waiting for the dads to get all the fishing stuff loaded.  This was Palin's first time to go and she was excited about it.

We all loaded up in the back of Whit's truck and drove down to the river in the back of the property to start fishing.

Palin's fishing pole was the only one that caught fish that day. She caught one and so did Cash. I guess Disney princess was the lucky one for the day.

Palin was unable to reel hers in so Toby did for her, it was alot for the little princess pole as you can tell from the picture of above.

Palin did not really want to touch it, so we could just get her to stand by it for a pictures. About 5 minutes later Cash caught a little one on her pole. Once Palin had caught one, she had moved on to throwing rocks in the river instead with Whitney.

I love these pictures of the girls. They are so cute.

After fishing we were all hot and dirty and the girls came back to our house with us, and the kids decided that they wanted to play in the sprinkler while Toby cooked out supper. We had a great day to kick off summer vacation! We loved that we had big yard for the kids to run and play in.
