Lazy Weekend

We did not do much this weekend. Toby and Cash spent the day at the farm and Palin and I met one of my friends Jill for lunch that I worked with at McKesson. Friday night we went to dinner with two other couples and thier kids. There were 6 adults and 5 kids! What a busy table we had. Cash was exhausted by the time we got home and curled up on Toby and was going to sleep. Its funny he is almost as big as me but on Toby he still seems so small! Its hard to believe that he is starting 1st grade in August.
We went to church Sunday morning and then came home and took a nap. It was really hot so when the kids were both up we went to Walmart and got them a sprinkler to play in. They both had so much fun while Toby cooked out hamburgers. They played and played and went down the slides wet. It made it much faster since they were wet. My kids are weird and will not go barefoot while playing in the water. Notice that they both are wearing thier tennis shoes!! It was a hot stress free weekend. I stayed up last night making robot juice boxes for Cash's class. I got the idea off pintrest!

A Bed or Tent?

Cash and Palin found flashlights last night and were playing with them in our bed under the covers trying to make a tent. I told him that his bed would make a better tent and we would make it that way this weekend. He was excited about it. I told the kids that it was time to get ready for bed. I went to Palin down and when I came out of her room this is what I found in Cash's room. Toby had gotten an extra comforter out and hung it down on the front of his bed and already started making it a tent. Cash slept all night last night inside his bed with it hanging down. He slept all night and never woke up!! That is great for Cash because he does not like sleeping all night. When we got home last night, they played outside with the neighbor kid with water guns and water balloons again and had a blast till about 7 when I made them come in soaking wet and get ready for dinner.

I don't want to share!

Palin is having issues with wanting to share. She does not like it when someone takes something of hers, even if she was not doing anything with it. This is Palin throwing a fit in the driveway because someone was playing with her sit and scoot and she did not want to share. I ignored her and instead started taking her picture. I dont think that it helped the situation. It just made her madder. When Palin gets mad the first thing that she does is take her shoes off and throw them. I think that she thinks that she is making a statement with it. Abuot 10 seconds after she does that she is asking you to put them back on.

Field Trip to Dino World

I took a vacation day on Monday and got to go with Cash to his first field trip to Dino World in Glen Rose. I followed/lost the school bus on the way to get there. Once we arrived the first thing that they got to go and do was dig for artifacts. They were allowed to keep three of anything that they found while digging. Cash ended up keeping some teeth, and some rocks that he found.
The park was really neat and had over 100 life size dinosouars for the kids to look at. It was the perfect weather and the sun was out. We walked through about a mile track that had all different dinosouars that we got to see.

The kids really got a kick out of getting to see them, there was even a pond that had Koi fish in it that they got to feed. Cash has a really great Kindergarten class and they all got along great and had a great time. His teacher is Mrs. McLeroy and she is great. She also goes to our church so Cash has gotten to know her pretty good.
There was also an indoor museum that we went through that had all information about the skeletons and about the history of dinosaours. The field trip was over about 1pm and Cash and I headed back home to spend the afternoon hanging out without Palin which Cash was excited about. He likes to do things without her sometimes, so I made sure for us to do what he wanted that afternoon. We played outside with his new ball that he bought with his allowance money and we then made magnets for the fridge. All of them have clothes pins on them so we can use them and hang papers and other things that we need to keep on them. We had a blast. We then picked up Palin and headed to Cash's baseball game.

Mother's Day

Mother's day was a perfect day weather wise. We woke up early and went to Sunday school. After Sunday school we headed for a short drive to Granbury, for lunch. We ate a Buffalo Gap. Like I said the weather was great so we ate outside on the porch. Which was great for the kids. Kids can always be louder if they are outside.

Cash made me a coffee mug in Sunday school that morning its really cute. It has a poem on one side and the other side has a traced hand of his that he colored. It was a great surprise to get. Saturday my mothers day actually started. Toby had arranged for me and a friend to go get pedicures that afternoon while he watched the kids and then had some of our friends over that night to cookout.
Its almost impossible to get a picture of me and both kids looking at the camera. I think we took 10 pictures before we actually got this one, and Palin refused to to take her hand out of her mouth. But its decent so I will take it.
When we got home that afternoon Cash went next door to play with the neighbor boy and play in the water with water balloons. Palin had to be right in the middle of it with them. She loved throwing water balloons, and getting wet. Once they broke out the water guns, I thought Palin would coming running home, but she was right in the middle of it with the boys. The loved getting to squirt them and get them wet.

It was a relaxing day and the kids enjoyed getting to be outside. The kids gave me my card and I got a new pair of sandals that I wanted a couple of weeks ago, that I did not want to buy myself, so it was surprise!

Backtrack Post : Thanksgiving 2012

Thankgiving this year was at my parents house. We alternate the holidays every year between our parent's houses. It was warm again on Thankgiving as Cash wore shorts on Thanksgiving day. We woke up early or should I say I stayed awake as I was still on nights and had to work the night before. I got home around 5am that morning and once the kids were up we were headed to my parents. My favorite thing is to watch the Thanksgiving day parade every year. Its a tradition. We have always watched it while I was growing up. The kids enjoyed it too getting to see all the floats, and of course at the end Santa!! That afternoon my parents took the kids to the park and mom always has a craft for them to make when we are there. This time they made Turkeys!!

Cash also got a new dog the weekend before Thanksgiving. We were driving through Petsmart parking lot and I saw him and we could not resist! Cash named him Bo.

As tradition goes we always put up our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving weekend at some point. We have been buying real tress the last couple of years, so we went shopping and let Cash pick out the perfect tree. Cash enjoyed getting to help hang the lights and all the ornaments this year. My mom buys them a new ornament or two or three every year for the tree. This year Palin got Ketchup and a princess one and Cash got his power ranger one since he was one for Halloween.

Backtrack Post: Palins 2nd Birthday!

Palin turned two in November. We celebrated in true Palin fashion in pink and purple! We had an Abby Cadabby party! When Cash was two we had a Elmo party so it was only right that Palin have an Abby party. We had the party at our house, and it was great. Even though it was in November, it was HOT! She played hard the whole time at her party. She got a bed for her baby dolls that was totally custom that my mom made for her. It even had bumpers and a matching pillow that mom sewed for her. By the end of the party she was exhausted.
