San Antonio Trip

Well, it finally got here... the trip Suzy, Julie and I had been waiting for! We left from Julie's house for San Antonio, for some good girl time of just hanging out! Our first agenda item was to find a post office so that I could mail a package. One would think that this would have been an easy task, but it wasn't. We even stopped in Giddings, texas and asked where one was only to not be able to find one. We were going down the road when Julie, saw this, did a uturn in the road and turned around!! At last we had found one.... where were we you might ask? Thats the same question that I asked. The post office was smaller than my living room... we were in Warda, Texas.

So I jumped out went inside to get a packaging for my present that I needed to get in the mail and then I was off to drop it in the box!
After a few laughs about the post office we contuined our drive to San Antonio, As we got closer, Suzy had the great idea to go to the drive through Zoo!! We turned off I-10 and hoped that our Garmin was going to lead us the right way, after driving off the beaten path for about 45 minutes we were beginning to wonder, we found it! This was the craziest thing that I have ever done!! It was nuts!!

The animals would come up and eat right out of your hands... the only rule, you could not get our of you car... I had issues with this, but Julie and Suzy would not let me get out! :(

The Zebra were our favorite!! At one point we had all the windows rolled down and had Zebras coming in 3 of the 4 windows, with me in the middle of the backseat trying to get away from them and Suzy jumping out of the front seat, her Zebra actually ended up stratching Julies Car! It was a little too Friendly!! After the drive through zoo it was off to San Antonio to check in to the hotel. We stayed at the Crown Plaza hotel. We checked in and decided to hit the riverwalk. We headed down to the Alamo for the first stop.

We were on foot, and it was 100 degrees and hot!! We took the wrong turns and had to take the long way to walk to the Alamo, we passed a lot of really creepy scary people along the way! We were glad when we arrived to see lots of people, as we were a little nervous on the walk there. We rode the riverwalk boats and walked around for a while, by this time we were hot, and tired and wanted to go to the room and clean up and change before dinner.
After cleaning up we headed down to the Riverwalk and ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. We got to sit outside on the river. We had a good time people watching.. we thought that we would stay there till late that night, but actually ended back up at the room early that night. We decided that we could call it a night and just hang out in the room. We figured out how to set the timer on our cameras so we could actually get a picture of us all together. We changed into our girls trip shirts and got comfortable for the night.
We talked and laughed for a while and then decided to order room service to our room, we order hot homemade cookies and milk. It was the best room service order ever!! The cookies were so warm and soft when they arrived and they brought the milk in a ice bucket for us.
Here we are eating milk and cookies instead of partying and drinking on the riverwalk... I think somewhere we grew up! Kinda depressing! After the cookies and milk it was lights out. We thought that we were going to call it an early night before heading to the outlet mall then next day, but we ended up talking in the dark for about 3 hours. I think that we finally drifted off to sleep somewhere around 1am. It was only about an hour later that Suzy and Julie woke up to me screaming at the top of my lungs, " WAKE UP WE HAVE TO GET OUTTA HERE" The fire alarm was going off in our hotel, and the loud speaker was telling us to evcaute. We grapped our purses and ran out the door before we even realized that we were in our matching shirts and Pajamas.
It was down 7 flights of stair, luckily we were not any higher. When we checked in I was going to ask for a higher room, I was glad at the point I did not. We ended up in the lobby with the other hotel guests who like us had gotten woken up. There was drunk guy in the lobby that kept telling us it was safe and to go back to the room. (I think that he may have pulled the alarm) Finally we were allowed to go back to our room, as they told us it was a false alarm.

The next morning we checked out, and got our room discounted because Suzy talked to the front desk about them waking us up and not being able to sleep because of the alarm, and we headed to the outlet mall for shopping and then back to Houston.
It was a great trip and we had a blast!!! The Zebras and the fire alarm were the best highlights of the trip, we laughed and almost cried during both!!

Pool Time!

I took a couple days of vacation, and got to spend alot of time with Cash! We had a blast. I bought a pool for the backyard on the days that we can not go to my parents and go swimming. He had his friend Cole over this weekend, and they had a blast! They swam and splashed and jumped in it for over 3 hours!

The boys got along great and would copy each other. What ever one did they other one tried to. It is really neat to see them interacting with each other at this age and talking up a storm. They have their own little conversations. I had to go back to work on Tuesday! Not looking foward to it! Wish I could have more time to play with my little one! I love this stage.

Downtown Aquariuam

Toby has been working a lot lately so we decided the other day to make an evening trip downtown to the aquarium. Since it is light till almost 9pm we knew that going after work we would still have time to do everything. We got down there and Cash was amazed just by the things that were outside before we even got in the doors. He was pointing to all the fish and sharks and talking about them.
This was the perfect ttime to go this week. Since school was still in and it was a workday there was hardly anyone there. We got to walk through all the exhibits and see all the fish with no people around. Cash got to run free and did not have to be in his stroller. It was great!

There were fish and sharks and even stingrays that we got to touch. Every where you looked there was something swimming around you. Cash really enjoyed it.

They have a train outside that you can take that drives you around the park and through a tunnel that surrounds you by water and swimming sharks. Since no one was there, we got to sit on the front of the train, and there were only 5 other people total on the train with us.
While we were there I got Toby and Cash to get on the ferris wheel. This is the biggest and the fastest one that I have ever rode. It goes up over Interstate 45 and it by the skyscrapers downtown. It was pretty neat to ride on. I freaked out a little bit. It moved a little faster than I was expecting! Cash was a little worried at first but then really liked it.
It is not just a place for fish.... they had real tigers too. They were sleeping while we were there, so we did not get to see them moving much. This was taken by the entrance to the tiger pen.
Even though we went late in the day it was HOT! Gotta love Houston! They had a misting cooling station that Cash and Toby ran through. Cash did not know what to think about it! Afterwards it was time to eat, and since we were already downtown Houston, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe and ate dinner there. By the time we got home around 10pm, we were all exhausted! It was great to spend some time as a little family!

Oklahoma - Graduation

Last weekend, Cash and my parents all drove up to Oklahoma, for my Cousin's graduation and to visit some of my relatives. Cash was great on the 8 hour drive and never complained about being in the car at all. He chatted up a storm.
Cash and my grandparents, his great grandparents. We spent the night at their house while we were their visiting.
He got to go to my Aunt Debbies house and she has 5 grandsons, so he had lots to play with. He had a horse swing, that he had a blast swinging on, and 2 of her grandsons were there and had crawdads that they were going fishing with that Cash got to play with. He thought that it was a lot of fun.

My aunt on the left, my mom in the middle and my grandma on the right. We spent a lot of time at my aunts house on her deck just cooking out and celebrating Tiffany's graduation.
My Uncle Tom is the fire chief in Blackwell Oklahoma, so we got to take Cash up to the firestation and see all the big fire trucks. Cash was even special enough that they turned on the lights and sirens for him. He got the whole tour of the firestation, he even got to see where they sleep and the pole that they actually slide down when there is a fire.
Here is my family with Tiffany after her graduation on Sunday - minus Toby, he had to work so he did not get to go with us.
Cash enjoyed gettting to eat graduation cake.

When we got back on Monday, Cash and PaPa, went grasshopper hunting, and caught 4 of them and put them in Cash's bug catcher. They had a lot of fun going around the house and yard and looking for them. We had a great weekend, and will be going back in August for my cousin Lacy's wedding.

Cash's First School Play

Friday night Cash had his first school play. His class sang at the First Baptist Church in Willis. They all had cute little Tshirts made that had a little boy in cowboy boots that said, thank heavens for little cowboys. Cash's teacher had to hold his hand and let him lead the class onto stage so that he would go up there. Once he got there he looked pretty worried but I thought that he would make it. As you can see below it did not go that way. He got worried...

worried... a little more.....
then his lip stuck out and the tears started coming .......

and then it was the loudest, scream that you have ever heard!! The daycare director had to go and get him off stage, and I ran up and got him and held him for the rest of the performance. I guess he will not be a movie star... just like his dad.. does not care for crowds!

New way to do Laundry

So.... I hate anything domestic... Cleaning, cooking, laundry... all of it! Thats why I choose to have the career and not be a stay at home mom, so I do not have to do that, and I have a lovely lady named Matilda(not really her name is Angela) that cleans my house from week to week. Matilda just sounds like a better maid name. But lately I have found that Cash likes to help to the laundry. He likes to put things in the washer and then put them in the dryer. So now I have a new buddy to help. He even make me stand in the hallway and tells me to stay, that he wants to do it alone.
