Herman Park

We headed to Houston this weekend. Toby and I had several things to attend with friends so my parents took the kids for the day on Saturday. They headed out Saturday morning and took them downtown Houston to Herman Park. They rode the train all around the park.The train goes by the Imax, Zoo and by the park.

At the park they have paddle boats tht you rent and take out on the lake. Both kids had a blast. Palin wanted to paddle hers however her legs were a little too short.

 Mom mention Fuddruckers hamburgers to Cash and he was sold that was here he wanted to go for dinner. Added bonus if you are a kids, they give you a cookie before you leave.  As usual you can not get the two of them to take a picture  and both look normal. So here is moms attempt at taking their picture.

The kids have been waiting the last couple of weeks to go swimming.... they were excited to hit the water when they got back from Houston that afternoon.

We had a quick weekend but the kids had a great time as normal did not stop while we were there.

Mother's Day Breakfast with Palin

This morning before work was Palin's monther day breakfast at her school. We left a little early this morning so that I had time to sit and eat Breakfast with her. She was excited that I was going with her. After breakfast you got to go to her room and she had a bunch of things that she has made for Mother's day that I got. One was her foot as a flower, and she was really excited about it.

Date day with Palin

Palin has dance on Saturdays morning, and this is our time on Saturdays without the boys, Palin's dance rule is that NO BOYS are allowed to go.  This Saturday she picked her outfit our herself, and I found out that when Dance class was over that she wore her sunglasses all through class.  I see Hollywood calling her name!

After class she wanted to go to lunch at Sonic. However she was very clear that she wanted to eat outside at the table there. All the car hops at Sonic got a kick out of her because she did not want to change clothes before we went .She wanted to wear her tutu there.

At the end of dance class her teacher gave each girl a coloring sheet to go home and color so that they can return it to her next week. This color sheet will be placed on her chair backstage at her recital that is coming up in a few weeks. We went and bought some glitter to make hers blingy. Each girl also had to say why they loved to dance. Palin's response, " It Makes me happy and I get to wear Tutus".

Cash came home on Friday with an award that he won the Hockey Dribble Knockout Champion. The award was given in PE, he beat all the other kids to win the award in the 1st grade! He was pretty excited about it.

Baseball Season Starts

Tonight we started baseball again! Well we started a long time ago practicing, today was just the first game of the season. Cash played Second base during this game and is number 11. Here they are with the coach getting a pep talk before the game starts.  He had one really good play and got the runner out at second.

 Palin enjoyed getting to play at the park before the game started. The weather was warm and sunny when we got there, but the time that the game started it was windy and cold. Cash got to bat 3 times and had some really good hits during the game.

While Cash was playing below is what I was messing with, you can just see how sassy she is. She is so independent and her own person. She does not care what anyone thinks!  

Zoo Trip!

Last Friday, I was off work for Good Friday and the kids and I drove to the Dallas Zoo to meet my friend Jill for the day. I did not tell the kids till that morning where we were going and Palin kept asking, are we at the zoo yet?

Cash got to feed and pet the Giraffes. Palin did not want any part of it. We got to the Zoo at 9am when they opened and stayed till almost one when it was starting to get crowded.

Palin liked looking at the animals but did not like getting close to them. She did like taking her picture whenever she would see something that she can stand by and take her picture with.

 The kids had lots of fun and Jill and I enjoyed getting to catch up with each other and spend sometime together. We ended the trip with a ride on the merry go round.

Princess Party

In addition to all the Easter activities that we had going this past weekend, we even squeezed in a Princess party for one of Palin's friends. Chaney was turning 4 and had a princess party. The invite said to wear your favorite tutu to the party.

There were 4 little girls there and they had fun playing outside and being girls.

More Easter Fun

We colored Easter eggs on Friday night or tried to I should say. The kids had fun but I think that the color tabs were old and they did not color very good like they typically do.

They were each proud of their dozen eggs that they got to complete and set out for the Easter bunny to hide on Saturday night. 

The next morning was Saturday and we headed to our church Easter Egg hunt. I tried to get a picture of the kids before we left and this is what I got. Both of them very seldom ever look at the camera together. As you can see here is a perfect example of that in these pictures.

These are all 3 Cash's from our church. Two of them are in 1st grade and the other is in Kindergarten. Crazy how there can be 3 in one church. Ours is the oldest so we say that they copied us!

The kids were excited to get home and go through their eggs when we got home from the egg hunt.
