Fireworks in Houston
This was Cash when we arrived in Houston! He was so excited and he was ready to pose for pictures. This picture makes me laugh. He was chuckling so much. We all posed and took pictures with Uncle Sam Hats on. Mom had them all upon our arrival and was waiting for us.
As soon as it was dark, we headed outside to popfireworks. They were so many going off all around mom and dads house it was like your own personal firework show. Cash had a good time this year popping them. Palin is at the stage Cash was a few years ago and just kept screaming!!
We spent most of Saturday in the pool swimming and hanging out. We cooked out hamburgers and hot dogs. Mom and Dad has cheese dip, and fruit tray and cupcakes and all kinds of food to snack on for the weekend while we were there. Dad decided that mid day we needed a bundt cake so him and I drove to the bundt cake place and got a red velvet one! It was great!Toby and I got a night out to go to dinner and to the movies on Saturday night too!

The Barn begins
Other exciting news for us, they started construction on the barn this week. We started with a pile of dirt to level the ground and as of yesterday, we have a framed barn started! Toby is getting excited to have a barn again, and I am getting excited to have space to put things again!
Round Two of Playoffs
Last night was round two of the playoffs. We played at 6pm, and we lost. 22 to 1. The boys were not playing as a team and made a lot of mistakes. They had about a 20 minute break between that game and the next one at 8pm. Cash and Hyson spent that time practicing hitting and throwing to each other while the rest of the boys were snacking and playing.
Cash had some really good hits last night in both games. Once the second game started the boys were on fire. They came out with a vengence and were determined to win. They scored 4 runs in the first inning and were playing as we have never seen them play. There were no mistakes this game! Cash had a couple of runs batted in and got to make it around the bases and run home.
The best part of last night was that Cash got put at first. He really likes first but has not gotten a chance to play this season. He was on fire with it. He caught balls, got outs and made great throws to the other bases. Below he is catching a out ball. He played perfect, we could not have asked for more.
We thought that we for sure had this going into the last inning we were up by 3 runs. The other team sent the last batter up and he had two strikes and all we needed was him to swing and miss the last pitch and we would progress and win the game. The last ball thrown at him, he hit and it went straight to third base and they missed it. It allowed them to send runners home and they won by one run in the last second. As the runner crossed home they called ballgame. The boys were so disappointed. They played a great game and gave it everything. As sad as the picture is below after the game when the coach wanted to talk to them, I love the things that I see in this picture. I love that #2 has his arm around the catcher that was so disappointed telling him good game! You see the disappointment in number 7 as he is walking to the rest of the team.
Below you see Cash's disappoint in not winning, he has never gotten emotional in whether they win or lose. But he wanted to win bad. He was sad the whole way home and didnt want to stop and eat when we left Comanche. Finally talked him into grabbing something when we got back to Stephenville. When we got home we put him to bed and told him how great he did. My heart broke for these boys last night.
This morning he was tired but was in good spirits and put on his tournament shirt that he got and wore it today. He was smiles and happy this morning and already talking about playing football in the fall and when it would start. Tough lessons to start learning, but it has to start at some point.

Playoffs - Night One!
We headed back from Houston on Monday because Cash had a baseball tournament in Comanche, Texas. We arrived at 7pm and it was sunny and hot! But we WON!! So now we play again on Wednesday!
The boys had such a great game and they played their hearts out. It payed off and we won. By the time the game was over it was almost 10pm and was dark. Cash had some great hits, and even caught a pop fly!
This picture ended up this way on its own when we was up to bat. Had to do with the fence that I was trying to take it through.
Palin spent most the game climbing on everything and telling me that she was ready to go. She was not up for wanting to be at the game and ran around all through it climbing the walls.... literally!
Loved that after we won the coaches had both teams come together and pray! As you can see in the picture, we are on the other side of the all the blue since we were the Astros and they were the Dodgers.
4th of July- Day
We woke up Friday and the kids were excited to get on their red, white and blue and get ready for the parade. We headed out early to get a good spot so we stopped and grabbed breakfast on the way and ate it when we got our lawnchairs set up.
The weather was great for the parade and we headed out right before it got too hot! We ran home and loaded up in the truck to start our trip to Houston. We headed to Toby's grandmas to visit on our way and Toby's mom was there visiting too. We spent a couple of hours with her, and then headed the rest of the way to Houston. However we can never go by a Bucee's gas station without stopping in you live around one! They are awesome.
We got to Houston around 8pm and started our celebrating there.

Making Brownies
There have only been a few evenings that we have not had stuff going on this summer with VBS, baseball and anything else that comes up. One of the few nights we had some down time, I told the kids that we would make brownies. They both love to help out in the kitchen.
Palin loved getting to lick the bowl and eat the leftovers....
