Easter 2016

This year Easter was a two weekend celebration. Our church hosted their annual Easter Egg hunt, and we got lucky that Colt was here for his Spring Break. Colt was able to go to lunch with us and then to the Egg hunt.

It was a beautiful day at the museum where the Egg hunt was held out. The kids love when Colt come because they get to play with him. This day they had watergun fights with him.

The weekend of Easter we went to Houston to mom and Dad's for a couple of days. We colored Easter eggs, and enjoyed being down there. Toby and Dad hung barn doors in the game room for mom and the kids enjoyed their Easter surprises from Mom and Dad.

We came home on Saturday night so that we were here to go to church on Sunday morning.

Cash Wins 2nd Place

Cash won second place at Art Show. He did not know that he won till we showed up at the exhibit that night. He was so excited when he saw that it had a ribbon on it when walked up to it. It is a picture of the Empire State Building that he had to draw.

Erath County Livestock 2016

Cash competed this year in the Erath County Livestock show for the first time and had success. He raised 2 goats and chickens. He also entered woodworking and built a toolbox that he auctioned off and sold. In which he placed 2nd in woodworking.

We placed 4th with our chickens and did not make sale with them. He did really well with his goats and made the sale. He sold Watt for $1100.

He learned a lot over the year about showing them, and we know that he will do a great job next year also!

He was pretty proud of his self once the week was over and he had success.

Father/Daughter Date Night

Our church hosted the First Daddy/Daughter date night in February. Palin was so excited to go dress shopping and get a new dress to wear to the event. Toby even ordered her a little corsage to wear to the event.

Whit came over before with his girls and they all went together. After the church event, they took the girls to Dairy Queen for Ice Cream which was Palin's favorite part of the night.

Palin turns 5

Palin turned 5 this year and had a Frozen birthday party! He party was extra special because Elsa came to the party!!!

We had the party at the Family center at our church and had a blast! She had a bounce house which was one of the most important things to her!

Goats!

Cash is doing 4H this year and in August we got 3 goats for him to show in the County show.

He named them Romo, Watt and Maybelle. The kids have enjoyed them. We made a pen in our backyard for them and they have been feeding them twice a day and walking them.

Palin Plays Soccer

Palin played soccer again this fall and loved it. We had no crying at practice or at games this year. She may not be the fastest on the team but she is the toughest and roughest!

She had two friends that were on her team this year, so they had a blast playing together. She is going to play Tball again in the spring.

Cash Turns 9!

Cash turned 9 in September. He had a Cowboy Football themed weekend. We kicked off the weekend by going to the Cowboys game that he bought tickets to with his money. He picked pecans all last Fall to save enough to get to go. We had a blast taking him. Two days later for his birthday we took him and three friends to the Dallas Cowboys Stadium to take the tour of the Stadium for his birthday.

We celebrated his actual birthday at home on his birthday. He wanted BBQ from Hard 8 for his choice of dinner and then we opened presents and had cake!

He got a new bike for his birthday that we hid in the house and make him go and find it. He had a great long weekend turning 9!

First day!

School started yesterday and this is Palin's first year going to what we call "Big School" They both had a great day!

Cash was excited and wasted no time getting out of the truck and running into school. He would not let us walk him in this year either. Growing up!!

Palin seems to have a great little class, and wanted to go back for day 2, so we will consider that a success. This year she her teacher is Ms. Rose who lives down the street from us and goes to church with us. So I am hoping that help her to like it.

Cash has Ms. Munson this year, which we dont know anything about but he seems to like her.

BBQ Cookoff

Meanwhile on the other side of the park, Toby and his dad were cooking in the BBQ cook off. They spent Friday and Saturday at the park cooking. They entered in Brisket, Ribs and Chicken.

They ended up placing and getting 2nd place in Brisket! Not too bad for their first cook off, and the first time on the new grill that Toby had finished just days before.

Toby built this from nothing .He has always wanted to build one, and he is now finally got to. He built the trailer and the BBQ grill from nothing. He was pretty proud as several people asked him where he bought it at.

Summer!

I can't believe that we are already running through summer and its July. We have finished sports camps for Cash and just finished celebrating the 4th of July.

Shelley and I were part of a small committe that planned the 4th Of July celebrations for our town. We had fun planning and seeing it all play out.  Mom and dad drove up to watch the kids while we were working the event.

They took Palin to the parade and Cash and I rode on the float in the parade. They weather was great and it was not horribly hot! We lucked out.

There were lots of things to do in the kids area. Palin was excited to have her face painted. She was patriotic princess!
Everyone was sporting their red white and blue!

Rangers Game

The first day that we actually had sunshine was last Saturday, after a month of rain and storms we had sunshine!! We took Cash and Jaxon to the Rangers game. It was the perfect weather and the game was great too. The boys had fun. It was a great day to kick off the first day of summer!
Palin did not want to go sit through the game so she went to Oma's and had a tea party instead. Much more her style than a baseball game!
