Palin's Scarf

Palin has been telling me every morning when we get ready that she wants a scarf. She kept saying mu neck gets cold. When I got her to school yesterday, I figured out why, all the other little girls in her class had scarfs on. I sent my mom out at lunch to find one and I went on a hunt to find a girls scarf, we had not luck. Toby was actually the one that ended up finding one. She was so excited when he gave it to her last night!! I even made her day this morning by showing her some new jeans that I bought for her to try on. I have had a really hard time getting jeans to fit her, and these fit perfect!! She has been wanting to wear jeans all the time, and we could not get any to fit her right... but I did! So she is happy as a clam this morning with her new jeans and her scarf that she made sure that we did not forget to put on this morning. She is such a diva already!!

Letter from Palin's Teacher

This is Toby's early week so he has been able to pick the kids up from school. Since I have not seen Palin's teacher this week when I pick her up she had sent this letter home with Palin yesterday for me. I have been dragging my feet on Palin getting rid of her pacifer (aka: bite), its just easy sometime to give it to her. But over the last 2 weeks she has broken herself of it. She only mentions it at night. This is huge because she used to have it ALL the time and would not leave the house with out it. She had been telling her teacher all week that she has been leaving it at home and not taking it with her. I am so thankful that both kids are doing really well in school and love it too!

Our new oven for the new house came yesterday and I met the people to have it delivered. I kept the box because I knew that the kids were going to have a great time playing in it! We have made a door on it, and they were both playing army with it that night too. Its the simple things that enterain them!

Grades

Cash is having a fantastic year this year. These were his grades that he brought home yesterday. One is a spelling test, a unit test, and another reading test. He is also number one in his class for his reading skills that they evaluate on the computer. He said that the teacher told the class yesterday that he was in the lead. I am so glad that he is doing so well in school and that he enjoys going.

Not Much

We have not much going on the last week. The kids have spent a lot of time playing, and riding their new bikes. They have been building with their blocks that they got for Christmas also.

Papa came through last weekend and spent the night on his way to Oklahoma. He and Cash did "science experiments" while he was here that Papa had bought for them to do together. Cash loves gettting to do things like that.

Monday we were off work and the kids were out of school. We just had a low key day. They played in thier new Chef hats and aprons from Christmas and had fun making me pizza.

Siblings

Cash has basbeball lessons on Monday nights so I got to stay home with "Crazy". She is starting to grow into that name and now actually responds to it. She came home yesterday and wanted to paint. I had to make a cake for work, so while I baked she painted at the kitchen table. She was just as content as could be. Toby said Cash was in a really good mood that night too. I think sometimes that they just need a break from each other. I sure dont understand siblings, they love to hate each other and then at other times they love each other. I sure dont get these love/hate relationships. I guess thats where I got off easy being an only child.

However now that Cash is reading on his own, its awfully sweet now that he can read to Palin. Cash was reading a book this morning while Palin was eating her granola bar and she ran to the couch to sit by him so that she could listen to the book to. Cash was happy to have her to read to and he read her the whole book this morning before school, while I was getting ready.

New Ballet Class

This Saturday we started a new dance class. We had been taking one in Granbury on Wednesday nights but it makes us get home really late, but I had been unable to find one here locally that was not during work hours. I finally did! It is on Saturday mornings, its called Happy Toes Dance. I was worried about switching and what Palin would think. She was excited and told everyone all week that she was going to a new dance class.

Once we got there she lined up with the other girls and off to class she went. I thought that she would have a meltdown, but she did not. She loved her new class and her new teachers! So here's to many more days of dancing!

No More Training Wheels

On New years day we took Cash to the park and highered his training wheels so that we could get him to learn to ride his bike without them. It did not really work, so Toby ended up just taking them off and working with him to ride without them. It took about 5 minutes for him to figure it out once we told him that as soon as he learned how, he could get a new bike. The kids likes a challenge and likes winning.  So as promised once we got home from Vegas we took him to get a new one. Here he is on his new bike. He loves it! Now Toby and I need to get bikes so we can all ride with the kids.

10 years later!

Friday on January 3, was our 10 year wedding anniversary and we renewed our vows in front of the Bellagio water show. We had so much fun. Everybody got dressed up for the occasion cruised the strip and got to take pictures in a couple of locations. We were so happy that so many of our friends came out to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate with us.

After renewing our vows and taking pictures at the Las Vegas sign that everyone wanted to take pictures at we went back to the hotel for dinner at a Karoake bar. It was a lot of fun. The girls and I even got on stage and sang a song.

We learned a couple of things while there, when traveling with a big group its cheaper to take a limo everywhere divided 5 ways an hour versus 3 taxi's for everyone. So we got to travel in style for cheaper than a yellow cab!

This picture sums it up! Fun! We all had such a good time and we would not have traded it for anything. The question is how do you top Vegas?? I guess we have 10 more years to figure that out. We all decided that we have to do something again at 20 years!

Weekend of Play

While we were in Vegas, mom and dad came up and got the kids and took them to Great Wolf Lodge. It was the perfect trip as it had been really cold here lately. So the kids got a chance to put thier swimsuits on and go swimming. Cash took turns with mom or dad going down all the tube waterslides while Palin played in the kids area going down the toddler slides.

Once of Cash's presents that Mom and Dad bought him for Christmas did not work right so they took it back and switched it out for a duck dynasty toy. Papa found a Si beard that he thought that they needed too.

The kids had a great day playing while we were away.

Las Vegas!

We started off the new year by heading to Las Vegas with 8 of our friends to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and hang out. We got there on Thursday afternoon and that night Toby and Lance surprised Shelley and I with a dinner and show. We went to Gallaghers Steakhouse inside New York New York hotel and Casino.

That night at midnight we met up with everyone with the exception of Marcus and Leah because they were not flying in till Friday. We went to Minus 5 Ice bar. They give you coats to wear in side because it is so cold. They do not allow you to take your cameras so the pictures below are the ones that they took of us that they want you to buy. I had to copy them from their website. Your drink that they give you is even in a cup of ice that they pour it in. We all went to bed around 2am, before another full day, which would be Toby and I's 10 year anniversary.
