March of Dimes

Today was the March of Dimes walked that I have taken part in the last 4 years. McKesson was a sponsor this year. There were about 50 people that I work with that showed up to walk the 3 miles this morning. Cash and me woke up early and headed to The Woodlands to be at the Walk.
We did not get too far out of Conroe before we met my best friend Julie. We picked her up at target and then headed to the Lone Star college where the walk was held. Cash was not wanting to take pictures today as you can see from the picture below. The March of Dimes is an organization that helps raise money for premature babies. Cash seemed to have a good time during the walk, I pushed him in his stoller during the walk.

The weather was perfect. No rain and no sun which meant no heat. It was really a perfect morning for the walk and we had a really good time. Toby did not go to the walk with us, so Cash and I wondered what he did while we were gone this morning, when we got home Toby, had put together 2 of Cash's toys, one was a worm, see below and his little red fire truck car. I call it a Flintstone car. It reminds me of something that Fred and Wilma Flintstone would drive. Ha!

Cash will not get inside the car yet, he just likes to push it around everywhere, it takes him so long to get used to everything.

Cash has a play date!

Saturday night we had some of our friends come over and their kids. One of them happens to be almost the same age as Cash. He was able to play with him and have a play date. They seemed to have a good time. Cash's grandpa bought him his own lawnchair to have, and this was the first weekend that he really got some use out of it. He loved it because he felt like a big person!

Flowers, shrubs and more Flowers!

Went to Lowe's on Saturday night and I got a bug to buy some shrubs, and flowers and plant them. Well something that I thought was going to be simple turned out into an all day event today. Above is the picture before we started working in the yard. We got up early this morning and started. My Mother in law was in town and helped so much. Because as most people know I know nothing about flowers or shrubs... luckily she was here to help.
These are my favorite flowers. I found them and fell in love with them. I bought two pots and put them in them. I bought purple ones that you can see in this picture and pink ones for the other side on the porch.

FINALLY!! Here is the finished version! We worked hard all day because we already had grass planted where I wanted to put all the things that you see above. We had to pull all the grass out and replant it else where in the yard... it was a pain! But the final result was worth it.

Our house looks nice and homey (is that a word)?? I love it. I think that I may start to get into this yard and flower thing. Cash played outside ALL day long. He was such a good sport and just played in the dirt with his shovel and had a ball. Thanks for coming to help Lois!

I wanna be like my daddy

Saturday was a pretty day and we spent the afternoon outside. Toby did some work around the house on the tractor spreading dirt and Cash wanted to be involved in every part of it! He rode the tractor with Toby all afternoon, he loved it. Here are some pics that I shot in black and white of their afternoon. He then helped by raking the dirt with his own rake that he has.
They are two of a kind. Cash is just like his daddy.

Forever Friends

This weekend was great, I never even hardly left the house but had a lot of fun. I was able to spend time with two of my best friends... Julie came over Saturday to see Cash and play with him. Julie also was looking at my camera that I had bought Toby for his birthday and decided to take a picture of herself and not tell me. I found this picture that she took of herself on my camera tonight when I was going through the pictures on it. So I decided that she would want me to share it with all of you blog readers since she took the picture! So here is my best friend since 4th grade, isn't she crazy? Ha! Just kidding Jules, I love you!
I also got to see my great friend Andrew. I got to meet his soon to be wife. They came to the house on Sunday to hang out for a few hours! It was a blast, I had not seen him in 2 years!!

No more baby bed!

Friday night we decided to take Cash's baby bed down and let him start sleeping in a big bed. He never slept very well in the baby bed anyways. Now he has a whole twin bed to roll around in. Toby bought him John Deere sheets at TSC this weekend. Since I had his bumpers from the baby bed, we used them to put around the bed, so he will not roll and hit his head on the wall till he gets used to sleeping in the bed. He also has a rail on one side so he will not roll off. Here is a picture of him sleeping in his bed tonight. Doesn't he look peaceful ??

Swimsuit Debut

Today was a great day, it was sunny and warm and I thought that it would be a perfect day for Cash to make his swimsuit debut. I got his cool elmo sprinkler out that we got him for Easter and put his new swimming suit and shoes on him and took him outside.
Here is the backview of his swimsuit debut! Isn't he cute?? Girls... hands off! He is a mama's boy and I am not giving him up to anyone! Well, maybe the Funkhousers, if they have a girl. He has first choice of getting to date thier daughter. Ha!
Well once the water was turned on and he was by the sprinkler, he freaked out. He wanted nothing to do with it. I tried to get him wet and get him used to it but no luck. He just scream at me... once again I struck out on activities that I thought would be fun.

Better luck next time I hope!!

Lunch and Shopping with Ms. Taylore

Today we went to the Woodlands for Lunch at the Cheesecake factory and met my dear friend Taylore. Taylore and I met at our first job after college at BMW. We were both HR Managers. We instantly became the best of friends and I was even honored to get to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in 2005. I do not get to see her that much anymore since she moved downtown Houston, and we do not work together anymore, but we still try to do lunch and meet up when we can. Cash was fussy at lunch today and the resturant set us outside, I think that they saw me and the stroller walk in and said outside you go.
After lunch we went shopping in the mall and Cash had a blast and where else do you go than to the Disney Store. Cash likes to people watch! Taylore tried to teach Cash who Winne the Pooh was. Cash seemed pretty interested as you can see in the picture above. Do not think that Cash left the disney store empty handed, he left with a stuffed Minnie and Mickey mouse. They were on sale! How could he not get them?
Thanks for a great afternoon Taylore, and Cash says he is holding you to your promise, next time we are coming to your house and going to the Children's museum, so clear your calendar!

De-ja-Vu

De-Ja-Vu... that's what today's Dr appt felt like. For those who know, this time last year almost to the day Cash was in the hospital and was having really bad problems breathing... which started a string of Doctor's visit and specialist visits and breathing treatments every 2-4 hours that = no sleep for me.

Well today at the doctor we found out that we had 2 ear infections again, and he was weezing really bad.. so the treatment... back the the breathing treatments. However this time is a little different now that Cash is 18 months and not 6 months he can hold the machine all alone. He did great tonight. When we got home we got out his machine, and he knew excatly what to do. We made it almost the whole 10 minutes on his own before he got bored with it. I took a picture because he was doing so great with it. Maybe he knows that it helps him breather better. So last year this time I thought this might be something that he would grow out of.. but it looks like it is going to be a seasonal thing with him. Good thing he is being a good sport about it! The kid just amazes me everyday!
